Meet our vibrant staff team and find out what they do!

Tom Inniss
Managing Editor


Tom is the Editor for Voice, overseeing all content. He's in charge of editorial planning, editing work from Voice Contributors, and commissioning. From a young age he has held a keen interest in politics, media, and technology. To further explore the three and how they intersect, he undertook a degree in politics and a masters in journalism.

 Tom Beasley 
Editor


Tom is the editor of Voice and a freelance entertainment journalist. He has been a film critic and showbiz reporter for more than seven years and is dedicated to helping young people enter the world of entertainment journalism. He loves horror movies, musicals, and pro wrestling — but not normally at the same time.

Judy McFall
Participation & Pathways Lead


With over 20 years in the arts and education sectors, Judy has honed her skills in creative learning and youth consultation. She's a lead trainer and project manager with us, and also a senior monitor and trainer for Trinity College London's Arts Award. Judy's passion for creative learning extends to her freelance consulting work, and she's been instrumental in national programmes like Artsmark. She's dedicated to fostering creativity in children and young people.

Dayna Jeynes
Administrator & Projects Co-ordinator


Dayna joined the Voice team in 2021 and she ensures the smooth running of the organisation and runs our Voice Reviewers network, getting press tickets for young people in their area. Alongside Voice, Dayna works as the Company Administrator and Co-ordinator for multiple arts and creative organisations across the UK.

Emrys Green
Associate Director (Training & Services)


Emrys has been involved with youth participation projects for over 15 years and co-created the Arts Award Youth Network and the original Voice website in 2011. He holds an Executive MBA and a range of management, training and safety qualifications. He leads our research, consultancy and training work which you can find out more about at youthvoicetraining.uk

Diana Walton
Director


Diana is the head of Upstart Projects, the charity which runs Voice. She's enjoyed a long career in the arts education world, including developing the Arts Award programme for the Arts Council. Her goal is to create more opportunities for all young people to enjoy the arts, explore careers and have their say - and she believes Voice magazine is the perfect place to make that happen!

Meet our trustees

Upstart Projects is the charity behind Voice Magazine and Youth Voice Training. Our trustees bring a wealth of experience to support the staff to fulfil our mission and run a sustainable organisation.

Holly Howe

Chair of Trustees


Holly is a freelance art journalist, writing for various publications including State/F22 magazine, The Art Newspaper, Highsnobiety, Complex, i-D, and Londnr. She leads guided art walks in London as well as giving talks and chairing panel discussions at places including Soho House, The Hospital Club, and the House of St Barnabas. She also works in corporate communications for an assortment of clients.

Phoebe Hill

Deputy Chair of Trustees


Phoebe is our Deputy Chair and HR lead, having joined the board as a founding young trustee. Phoebe has worked across the arts and voluntary sector in London, with experience in community participation and events. Following a career change, she now manages the HR team at older people’s charity Independent Age. 

Nikeria Tannis

Trustee


Nikeria, studying Law with Criminology in Nottingham, is a dedicated community activist and art enthusiast. Committed to addressing homelessness and promoting inclusion, she devotes her free time to community projects. Her passion for creativity extends to her weekend pursuits of art and editing, a joy she shares as a trustee for Upstart. In this role, Nikeria supports Upstart's Projects and champions the authentic creativity showcased in the Voice Magazine.

Tom Edwards

Trustee


Tom is a filmmaker and photographer. He is currently working as a Digital Marketing and Campaigns Officer at North West Bridge organisation Curious Minds who help connect young people to arts and culture. He has a degree in Film Production and has completed his Digital Marketing apprenticeship. He is currently finishing up his Gold Arts Award and has been working as part of the Wigan Local Cultural Education Partnership.

Beth Troakes

Trustee


Beth is a freelance curator and gallery director based in Brighton. She has curated exhibitions nationally and internationally and has worked with partners in Italy, South Korea and China. She has worked in development as both a freelancer and in arts organisations for many years and has also worked with many award-winning international theatre companies and performers as a producer and strives to support artists and musicians who are unsigned and unrepresented.

Amy Clewlow

Trustee


Amy is a former Voice Magazine Kickstarter and arts practitioner, having worked with Voice she can’t wait to have a bigger role in the development of young people, with a heavy focus on supporting them in the arts.
